FAQs

Trucks

  • Hauling capacity?

Our solo dump trucks can haul up to 10 yards of rock, or 15 yards of bark/soil.

Our small truck can haul up to 6 yards of rock, or 7 yards of bark/soil.

  • Will a truck fit on my property?

Our trucks generally require a 12-foot width opening. The minimum opening a truck may fit through is 10-feet, if they are not turning, however, their mirrors will stick out past 10 feet.

  • Overhead clearance required?

Overhead objects may prevent the truck from being able to spread or dump the material.

We reccomend having an alternate dump location available, in case your first-choice location is inaccessible to avoid returned load fees.

Most overhead wires, if hung to regulations, will be high enough that our trucks can get under them but not dump or spread directly underneath.

  • Is my dump location accessible?

We try to avoid driving into muddy or soft areas, because of the possibility that the truck will sink, stick, or tip over.

If our truck does get stuck on your property and it is not due to driver error, then you may be liable for towing charges.

We prefer not to drive on lawns to avoid damage to your grass.

  • How heavy is a truck?

Every truck is slightly different, but our solo trucks average 21,000 - 27,000 lbs when empty, and up to 55,500 lbs when fully loaded.

  • How do I order?

We take orders over the phone or in person. You can also e-mail for initial setup and pricing, though we may need to talk to you in person to finalize delivery.

  • Do I need to be home for the delivery?

No, you do not need to be there when he delivers, however the dump location must be clearly marked and payment arrangements must be made.

Be sure to let us know if you plan on not being there.

  • How do I pay?

You can give the driver cash (though he does not carry change), or a check for the delivery. We can also take Visa, Mastercard, or Discover when you order and send your receipt with the driver.

Please note that we never accept American Express.

  • Can you spread rock down my driveway?

A Spread is when a driver is dumping the rock out of the back of the truck while moving forward and using the tailgate to help control the flow of the rock.

Please note that this service is offered as a courtesy and we do not guarantee results. In certain situations, the driver may not be able to spread.

Pickup

  • Can I haul material in my pickup truck?

Yes! We are pickup truck friendly here. Feel free to come and get loaded or to simply look around. And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to stop in the office. We are here to help!

  • How does pricing work?

A majority of our products are priced by the ton. Your vehicle will be weighed empty, then again when loaded.

You are billed only for the product you carry, though there are minimums.

  • Can I load material myself?

Absolutely! We do allow customers to load themselves. We also sell empty 5 gallon bags.

  • Can a machine load my truck?

We generally load pickups with our front-end loader, with a 1-yard bucket. Although we use a 1-yard bucket we can load more or less than 1 yard

Excavators are also available for larger rock, with a minimum charge.

Your load will be weighed, and you will pay for the amount on your truck.
